Introduction

The Culture Based Tourism Program is JKKN's core programme at the state level which carries the uniqueness of local cultural arts for the purpose of preserving and maintaining the nation's cultural arts heritage, while generating the economy through art and culture, and fostering collaborative spirits, increasing tolerance, harmony and unity towards the prosperity of Malaysians.

PRESERVATION OF CULTURAL ARTS

The Culture Based Tourism Programme is a platform to preserve local cultural arts for the viewing of new generation as well as tourist attractions such as hadrah, jikey, mek mulung, dikir barat, wayang kulit, people's sports, and others.

INVOLVEMENT OF THE YOUNG GENERATION

Aimed to encourage the development and process of scouting new talents in the cultural arts field such as Dikir Barat, Mak Yong, dance, Silat Drumming, Boriah performance and others.

The main state programmes and anchor programmes were developed to promote domestic and international tourism favouring an authentic experience 

NATION'S PROSPERITY FOCUS

The government agencies and private sector services such as mobile farmer's market, health screening, establishment of homestays, advisory services related to business loans, summons payment counters and others.

The involvement of various agencies in providing services to the society such as the Ministry of Health Malaysia, Ministry of Finance, RMP, MAF, Tourism Malaysia, Federal Agriculture Marketing Authority, Tenaga Nasional Berhad, People's Trust Council and others.

4PERAK ARTS FESTIVAL

Perak arts festival will showcase the diverse and rich tapestry of arts and cultural, and tourism products and sites of perak. The activities will include glimpses and cultural experiences encompassing beliefs, heritage, norms, traditional community practices and more, through the various activities that will be held. Locals and international visitors will surely be endeared to the way of life and be attracted tourism sites of the state.

5BORIA FESTIVAL
12 - 14 July 2024
Pulau Pinang

Boria is a form of Malay theatre of Indian origin which has gone through adaptive processes, becoming the one and only theatre of the Malay community in Penang. The festival will present boria performances both in its traditional form and curret interpretations by the younger generation. 


6INDIGENOUS ARTS AND CULTURAL FESTIVAL
19 - 21 July 2024
Temerloh Square, Temerloh, Pahang
The Indigenous Arts and Cultural Festival offers the uniqueness of the heritage, beliefs and practices of the indigenous community of Malaysia.  This tourism programme is based on culture in the state of Pahang which promotes the arts of the indigenous people of Malaysia.
7THE KELANTAN FESTIVAL OF ARTS
1-3 August 2024
Pantai Irama, Bachok Kelantan
The Kelantan Festival of Arts is a major Festival showcasing the rich heritage of the Eastern state of Kelantan. A major attraction of the festival is the Dikir Barat, Mak yong and Wayang Kulit performances, alongside the traditional games competitions and sale of traditional local delicacies.
8TEMASYA GANU KITE
8 - 10 August 2024
Dataran Kuala Berang, Hulu Terengganu, Terengganu
Temasya Ganu Kite is a cultural Festival that brings in one place, the social and cultural aspects of the east coast community of Trengganu, one that lives in harmony alongside its river banks. The activities is aimed to endear the younger generation to their rich cultural heritage so as to ensure this legacy entrusted ON them will be well looked after in the years to come.

A program to celebrate the rich cultural tapestry of the communities in Selangor that will highlight various activities that include costumes, community sports competitions on land and by the sea, traditional foods, family activities, competitions to find new talents ,an interactive exhibition and stalls selling a myriad of things.
11MALAYSIAN GAMES FESTIVAL@KUALA LUMPUR13-16 September 2024Dataran Merdeka, Kuala LumpurThe festival showcases Malaysian traditional games, some of which might not be familiar to modern Malaysians and serves to pique interest to ensure the games can continue to be enjoyed by all Malaysians in future.
